New York City With the Family!

Some would think that we were crazy to spend the day walking through New York with three small children and one umbrella stroller. We started off by taking the train from Westport (home) to Grand Central Station, it took about an hour in which time we TRIED to set some safety rules for our time in the BIG city. (I think we did a pretty good job with Ellen anyway she didn't let go of my hand for the rest of the day).
From Grand Central we started walking toward Battery Park, and the Staten Island Ferry. On our walk we saw the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, Soho, Noho, China Town, a farmers market, Union Square Park, Madison Square Park, And lots of people and hot dog stands where you can buy terrible and overpriced pretzels.

All in all, we walked about 4 miles. Olivia spent nearly the entire time in the stroller, Talmage spent his time in the wrap being held by either me or Eric, and Ellen was a TROOPER and walked the whole 4 miles minus the 1/2 a block where Olivia let Ellen ride in the stroller.

The Ferry was really great we ended up getting there just before the sun was going to set. We saw the Stature of liberty and the city at one of the most beautiful times! When we got back from our Ferry ride we were all pretty pooped so we decided to take the subway back to the train station and then head on home. It was a lot of fun, I can't wait to go back and try it again! Maybe even see a show!

Is this your first time to NY? Thanks for posting pictures. It's so fun to see that you don't let the cute munchkins slow you down! I think the best adventures are when the whole family is together. :)
